Carla Olson Gade has been imaging stories most of her life. Her love for writing and eras gone by turned her attention to writing Inspirational Historical Romance giving her an opportunity to realize her dream of becoming a published author. She enjoys bringing her tales to life with historically authentic settings and characters, while also weaving into the story a thread of faith.

Carla's debut novel, The Shadow Catcher's Daughter (Barbour/Harlequin) was released in February 2012, with a novella, "Carving a Future" in Colonial Courtships (Barbour) which followed shortly after, in October 2012. In 2013, another Colonial era novel, Pattern for Romance (Abingdon Fiction), in the popular Quilts of Love series. "'Tis the Season," a novella in ECPA best-selling Mistletoe Memories released in September 2013. Two more Christmas stories followed which were featured in A Cup of Christmas Cheer (Guideposts Books), "Upon a Christmas Tree Schooner" (Volume One, 2013) and "The Memory Shop" (Volume Four, 2014). In 2015, Carla's novella "Proving Up" was included in the ECPA best-seller The Homestead Brides Collection (Barbour). Three of her books have been repacked by Barbour Books for readers to enjoy again with "Carving a Future" in The American Dream Romance Collection (Barbour), Love's Compass (formerly The Shadow Catcher's Daughter), and "'Tis the Season" in Bygone Christmas Brides. Carla's publishing credits also include a variety of newspaper articles, newsletters, and web content. She also enjoys developing discipleship materials and devotionals. Carla has been blogging on faith, history, and books for over a decade. Currently she blogs at Colonial Quills and at her own Adventures of the Heart blog.

In addition to writing, Carla is a freelance editor, serves on a publishing board, and has judged many writing contests including the Inspirational Reader's Choice Contest (RWA), ACFW's Genesis Contest, and the Phoenix Rattler Contest (ACFW-Arizona). Her past affiliations include American Christian Fiction Writers and Maine Fellowship of Christian Writers. Carla has also spoken at several women's events and facilitated many workshops and classes through the years.

A webmaster, blog designer, and graphic designer of ten years, she is also an experienced 
event and program planner/promoter. An autodidact, creative thinker, and avid reader, Carla also enjoys genealogy, home design, and photography. She is the mother of two adult sons, and an enthusiastic five year old grandson. A native New Englander, Carla writes from her Victorian home in beautiful Maine where she resides with her "hero" husband and cat, Dasha.
